#1 Outdoor Adventure

Pollination Relay Race
1 “bee” per person (a puppet, a picture of a bee glued to a stick –– use your imagination)
1 bucket per team
1 “beehive” per team (a basket, a straw hat, etc.)
Construction paper
Scissors
What to do:
Recruit as many players as you can and divide into two equal teams.
Give each player a bee.
Set a bucket 10 feet in front of each team, another bucket 10 feet away from the first bucket and a beehive 10 feet from the second bucket.
Cut circular coins from construction paper –– half should have the letter P (for pollen) and the other half should have (N) for nectar, and place them in the first bucket.
Instruct the players to line up. One player from each team goes at a time, pretending to be a bee, and running to the first bucket, grabbing a pollen coin and a nectar coin, and heading to the second bucket to deposit a pollen coin.
The next teammates do the same until all the pollen coins are deposited. The last person has to take all the pollen and nectar coins to the beehive, run back and line up. Whoever completes the relay race first, wins!
